ABOUT JUDGE AMY M. PELLMAN
Amy M. Pellman, Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court. Judge Pellman spent five years on the family court bench and is currently assigned to the dependency court. An adjunct Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School since 2002, she won the adjunct excellence in teaching award in 2005. Prior to being appointed to the bench, Judge Pellman was the legal director for The Alliance for Children's Rights, a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to children in poverty. She was the 2003 recipient of the Child Advocacy award by the American Bar Association. She writes and speaks often on issues concerning children involved in the dependency and family law systems. She has a B.A. in Political Science from Mount Holyoke College, and a J.D. from the City University of New York Law School.
