Ph.D. Profile: Adam Dorr

The focus of Adam's research is on the ecological and social sustainability of complex landscapes, with particular emphasis upon new energy technologies such as hydraulic fracturing (known as “fracking”) and their attendant environmental impact and justice implications. Prior to returning to graduate school, he spent six years living and working overseas on a range of public, private, and nonprofit sustainable development projects. Adam is a passionate educator and advocate for reason and scientific literacy. His wider intellectual interests include moral philosophy, theories of justice, futures research, and the social, economic and political impacts of disruptive technologies. He also enjoys surfing, building things, and playing the guitar. Adam is the author of Letter to a Conservative Nation.
