This requirement can be met by a grade of B or better in a college math course (at a minimum level of College Algebra), a minimum quantitative GRE score of 600, or satisfactory completion of a three-week preparatory Math Camp offered by our Department prior to the beginning of the Fall quarter. The first two weeks of Math Camp are for students who have been identified as not meeting the quantitative requirement either through a college math course or minimum GRE score. Those who choose not to participate in Math Camp must present a transcript for a college math class (College Algebra or higher) with a grade of B or better or a minimum qualifying GRE scorer of 600 by September 1. The final week of Math Camp is a recommended workshop for all entering Master's students to prepare for proficiency exams for UP207 Applied Microeconomics for Urban Planning and UP220A Quantitative Analysis in Urban Planning. Students who pass the proficiency exams given on the first day of the workshop may skip the remainder of the workshop. The proficiency exams are also given during orientation week.
