Brady hails from Boston, Massachusetts, but now considers himself an Angeleno and is a proud resident of Koreatown. Brady's interest in urban planning arose after several years of traveling and living in different cities, and seeing how different cultures use and interact in public space. He is a progressive planning student, and a strong believer in the power of ethnographic methods to provide insight to urban planners, designers, and community organizations. Brady is also a member of the Urban Humanities Initiative at UCLA, and thus draws from multiple disciplines in his work, including history, sociology, and architecture. His current research examines the relationship between public art, branding, and spatial politics.
