Each year our Public Policy, Social Welfare, and Urban Planning alumni and friends make a significant difference for current and future students of the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
Together we are collectively showing our support for the new Luskin School with a gift of $30 or more in celebration of Meyer Luskin’s first scholarship in 1943. If each alumnus gives just $30, we will raise more than $200,000 for student scholarships and more. Learn more about the Luskin story.
Frequently Asked Questions about the Luskin Legacy campaign.
A $30 scholarship in 1943 gave Meyer Luskin the support he
needed to continue his UCLA education and pursue his dreams. Returning home after serving his country in
WWII, Meyer commuted to campus from Boyle Heights and earned his BA in
Economics in 1949.
The Luskins, eternally grateful for the support Meyer once received, have given back to ensure that current and future students are afforded the same educational opportunities at UCLA to pursue their own passions.
One gift of $30 was all it took to help Meyer Luskin fulfill his dreams.
(For the curious: adjusting for inflation, a gift of $30 in 1943 is equivalent to $387.52 in 2011*)

You can give back to an area that means the most to you.
The Dean’s Innovation Fund provides flexible support for school-wide initiatives such as the Senior Fellows Program, City Hall Day, and our new Career Center for students and alumni.
The Departments’ Innovation Funds provide flexible support for departmental focused priorities including student fellowship opportunities. The Departments of Public Policy, Urban Planning, and Social Welfare are grateful for your contributions.
While the Luskins generously made a gift of $50M to support many areas of the school, including school-wide and departmental fellowships, we still need our alumni support! The Luskin gift, primarily in the form of endowments, will provide long-term sustainable support stemming from the interest earned on these endowments, year to year.
Their gift will help tremendously, but it will not solve the challenges associated with rising education costs that continue to affect UCLA. The State provides less than 15% of the School’s operating costs and the need for flexible support from alumni is more important than ever.
Giving back is another way to say thank you for the experiences you had while at UCLA—from the amazing faculty to your fellow classmates and now professional peers.
Show your thanks. Make your gift today.
