Charisma Acey MPP '98 will be joining the faculty in City and Regional Planning at UC Berkely this coming fall.

Matt O'Keefe MPP '10 is now the Manager of Market Development and Regulatory Affairs at Opower.

Louise Mc Carthy MPP ’04 was the featured speaker at a Capitol Briefing entitled: “Evolution of the Health Care Safety Net: Innovations for the Future.”

Andrea Lovano MPP ’12 is now Rent Information Coordinator for the City of West Hollywood. 

Ashley Tindall MPP ’04 produced a documentary film project highlighting Peace Corp volunteers entitled 27 months. See clips at www.vimeo.com/twentysevenmonths. Read her story. 

Celeste Drake JD/MPP ’09, published her first article in the ABA Journal of Labor and Employment Law, entitled U.S. Trade and Economic Policy: American Workers Need More Than Strong Labor Chapters. 

LA Weekly’s Best of LA 2012 featured UCLA Extension’s Global Sustainability Certificate Program, taught by Nurit Katz MPP/MBA ’08, as one of the Best Classes in LA

UCLA Luskin Instructor Miriam Krinsky, along with alumni Alicia Castro MPP ’12, Teresa Magula MPP ’04, Julie Quinn MPP ’09, Katherine Williams MPP ’09, and current MPP student Erica Quintana lead a commission on LA County Jail violence.

Steve Callaghan MPP ’98 was interviewed by the Hollywood Reporter for his work on the TV Show Family Guy.

Karissa Yee MPP '11 managed and lead a team of writers for a proposal project that LAUSD is the winner of a 5-year, $50 Million Teacher Incentive Grant. Read her story.

Thomas Brock, PH.D. Social Welfare '92 was appointed as Commissioner of the National Center for Education Research.

Herschel Knapp, Ph.D. Social Welfare ’01 was awarded a contract to author his third textbook with Sage Publications. 


 


 

URBAN PLANNING

Will Dominie, Urban Planing '12 won the Parker Award for his study Is Just Growth Smarter Growth?  The Effects of Gentrification on Transit Ridership and Driving in Los Angeles' Transit Station Area Neighborhoods. Read his story.

Renia Ehrenfeucht, Ph.D. Urban Planning ’12 is now Associate Professor and Department Chair, MSUS & Ph.D. Program Coordinator at the University of New Orleans. 

Seth Boots MURP ’12 is now a Project Manager in Campus Construction and Planning at Pepperdine University

Felicity Wood MA Urban Planning ’01 published a 42-page audit report of the City Of Sacramento’s Fire Prevention Program

Chancee Martorell MA Urban Planning '93 received the Royal Thai Medal of the Most Admirable Order of Direkgunabhorn. Read her story.
