Public Health Assessments Should be Part of Government Decision-making, Says Panel Chaired by Richard Jackson

Environmental Health Sciences Chair, UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability  (IoES) and Urban Planning Professor, Richard Jackson, MD., MPH, chaired a 14-member panel that authored a report requested by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: "Improving Health in the United States: The Role of Health Impact Assessment."

The report discusses the need for health-informed decision-making, reviews the current practice of health impact assessment, and provides a framework, terminology, and guidance for improving the assessment of health impacts in the United States.
