Post from Associate Dean Fernando Torres-Gil:
I recently returned from the “Summer Event on the South Lawn” at the White House with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. From the South Lawn, there’s a perfect view of the Oval Office. I could see the President working up until the start of the event. Other guests included various political appointees (I was recently confirmed to the National Council on Disability). This was a wonderful chance to connect and reconnect with other fellow appointees and key White House staff, especially those with whom I will collaborate. What was especially neat was running into several appointees who, like me, got their start in the Carter administration, worked for Clinton and are back with Obama. And yes they are now old guys like me!
