At the UCLA Department of Public Policy, we take people who are passionate about making a difference in the world and give them the tools they need to do so. Our Master of Public Policy (MPP) program combines the best of traditional policy education with a flexibility and responsiveness that enables us to remain relevant in a rapidly changing world. Increasingly, policy making and policy implementation are taking place in the nonprofit and private sectors. A career in public service is no longer limited to working in government. By giving students a diversified tool kit of quantitative and analytical skills and the flexibility to design their own program of study - while drawing on all the resources of a top research university - we produce graduates who are equipped to become real leaders in policy making, wherever that process takes place. The joint degrees with Law, Management, and Social Welfare offer an even broader range of skill and expertise development.
Global Public Affairs (GPA) at UCLA Luskin (GPA@UCLA Lusin) provides intellectual preparation to future experts who plan to
work within the realm of global public affairs. GPA offers four interdisciplinary
Certificates in Global Public Affairs, which can be
obtained as part of the MPP degree from the Luskin
School. The academic clusters that the certificates encompass are: Global
Processes and Institutions, Global Urbanization and Regional Development,
Global Environment and Resources, and Global Health and Social Services.
The Minor in Public Policy seeks to provide undergraduates with a systematic overview of public policy questions.
