Professor Richard Jackson has been elected to honorary membership in the American Society of Landscape Architects. This is one of the highest honors the organization may confer. The Society promotes the landscape architecture profession and advances the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship. A leading voice for better urban design for the sake of good health, Dr. Richard Jackson is chair of Environmental Health Sciences at UCLA’s School of Public Health and also holds appointments in the Department of Urban Planning and the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability. Jackson is host-narrator of the PBS series, Designing Healthy Communities, and author of the companion book of the same name.
