Doreen Klee is a licensed clinical social worker with interests in gerontology, macro practice, volunteer and staff training, and clinical practice.
Mrs. Klee was honored with a Presidential Leadership Fellowship from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the University of Southern California’s Leadership Institute in 1993. In 2004 she received the “Mesnick Award for Achievement in Senior Adult Programming” from the Jewish Communal Professionals of Southern California. Mrs. Klee has also been recognized frequently for her work in field education. She was awarded the “Heart of Social Work Award” from the North American Field Educators and Directors as part of the Council on Social Work Education and she received the “Jules Levine Distinguished Field Education Award” for excellence in Field Education from the USC School of Social Work.
Ms. Klee’s social work experience has included: Work with more than 1,300 volunteers; Director of a multipurpose senior center; Director of private fee-for-service case management programs; Coordinator of field instruction for multiple students and staff members; and Consultant with the GSWEC (Geriatric Social Work Education Consortium) program. Prior to joining the field faculty, Mrs. Klee practiced professionally at Home-SAFE Child Care of Vista del Mar, Gateways Hospital Westside Geriatric Center (a mental health outpatient treatment center), Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for the Aged and, for the last 17 years, at Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles.
