Professor Rui Wang specializes in the policy analysis and the behavior foundation of urban transportation and its connection with urban quality of life and development. He also conducts research in multiple intertwined policy areas in China's urbanization. He teaches in the Departments of Urban Planning and Public Policy, directs the UCLA Chinese Planning Professional Training Program, and serves on the Editorial Board of U.S. DOT’s Journal of Transportation and Statistics. Professor Rui Wang has consulted with the Beijing Municipal Institute of City Planning and Design, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the World Bank. He also gave invited talks at the China Finance 40 Forum, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, RAND, the World Bank, and numerous academic conferences and institutions. His research has been covered by media outlets such as the Atlantic, Harvard Business Review, Los Angeles Times, and New York Times.
