Analyzing Pedestrian Movements in Israeli Cities

Transportation planning is changing. Instead of being preoccupied with accommodating automobile traffic, it is becoming concerned with other modes, such as pedestrian movement. Dr. Yodan Rofè will explain the model that he developed based on fourteen neighborhoods in four cities in Israel. He will show the effectiveness of this model in predicting pedestrian movement in four  neighborhoods.Speaker BioYodan Rofè is a Senior Lecturer of Urban Planning and Design at Ben-Gurion University in Israel and Founder and Board Member of the Movement for Israeli Urbanism (MIU). His research interests include Neighborhoods in Urban Theory and City Planning, Cognition and Feeling in the Built Environment, Urban Space and Street Design, and the connection between Transportation and Land Use. Dr. Rofè completed his Masters in Architecture, and his Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley.Lunch will be provided. RSVP now!
