Careers as Administrative Staff for Elected Officials Wednesday, May 5, 2010 12:00-1:00 PM Public Affairs Building, Room 5391 Lunch will be provided! The goal of this program is to connect current students with professionals who serve as staff members for elected officials. The featured panelists include: Claire Bartels, Chief Deputy Controller, Office of Controller Wendy Greuel Karly Katona, Deputy to Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Second District, County of Los Angeles Monique Earl, Budget and Finance Deputy, Councilmember Bernard C. Parks, 8th District Alex Fay, Associate, Mayor’s Office of Economic and Business Policy Torie Osborn, former Senior Advisor to the Mayor, will lead the panelists in a discussion about their current positions, their career paths, and suggestions regarding how students can best prepare to pursue careers in the offices of elected officials. The panel will conclude with an interactive question and answer session.
