Career Paths Speaker Series: Sandeep Prasanna

Sandeep Prasanna is an Investigative Counsel in the U.S. House of Representatives and an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center. Sandeep previously served as a Biden Administration appointee in the U.S. Department of Justice, where he advised several of President Biden’s nominees for Department leadership positions and advanced the Department’s legislative priorities. He was previously the Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Intelligence & Counterterrorism, serving Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security. In this role, Sandeep advanced legislation and oversight on domestic terrorism and other national security issues. Sandeep previously served as General Counsel to Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) and as a Legislative Aide on the Senate Judiciary Committee for Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT). Prior to starting on Capitol Hill, Professor Prasanna worked to challenge domestic human rights abuses using international legal mechanisms as a legal fellow at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. Sandeep graduated from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs (M.P.P.), UCLA School of Law (J.D.), and Duke University (A.B.)
