Hasan Ikhrata is the Executive Director of the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). His responsibilities include implementing the policies of an 83-member Regional Council and directing day-to-day operations of the nation’s largest metropolitan planning organization. Mr. Ikhrata has over 25 years of public and private sector experience in transportation planning in the Southern California region. Prior to joining SCAG in 1994, Mr. Ikhrata worked for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), where he developed a comprehensive Transportation Control Measure/Transportation Demand Management program for the MTA and 88 cities in the County. He holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from UCLA, and a PhD Candidacy in Urban Planning and Transportationfrom USC.Mr. Ikhrata serves as a member of the Lewis Center Board of Advisors.This event is part of the Fall 2012 Transportation Speakers Series, spondored by the Lewis Center and the Institute of Transportation Studies.
