High-Speed Rail Projects around the World: Lessons Learned

Join us for a conversation with Christopher Nash and Louis Thompson, who together will discuss lessons learned from high-speed rail projects around the world.  Nash and Thompson will also touch on  issues connected to California’s own high-speed rail project .  A Q&A session will take place at the conclusion of the discussion.RSVP at: http://uclahighspeedrail.eventbrite.com/  Speaker BiosChristopher Nash is a Research Professor at the University of Leeds in England and has over 30 years of experience in transport economics.  Professor Nash has been an advisor to the European Commission High Level Group on Transport Infrastructure Charging and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Transport Policy.Louis Thompson is Principal at Thompson, Galenson and Associates, a consulting firm working with public & commercial clients on railway & transportation issues in the U.S. & worldwide.  He is a member of the California High-Speed Rail Peer Review Group and holds an MBA from Harvard University.  This event is part of the Fall 2012 Transportation Speakers Series, spondored by the Lewis Center and the Institute of Transportation Studies.To see other recent and upcoming lectures in this series, click here.
