I regret to inform you that the Luskin Edi Committee’s “Pulling Back the Curtain on Homelessness, Housing & Government” featuring appearances by Jason Pu, Gustavo Velasquez, Eric Shaw, Ann Sewill, and Michael Lens has been postponed because of an ongoing labor dispute between the University of California and a union representing academic workers. This event is scheduled for next Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, and is now being tentatively rescheduled for Winter quarter, date TBA.

Pulling Back the Curtain on Homelessness, Housing & Government

Nov 29 @ 5:00 pm-6:00 pm

For the 2022-2023 academic year UCLA Luskin is hosting a series of events to promote connection to and discussion with leaders in the affordable housing and homelessness space. A primary goal of this program is to center the conversations around racial and social justice as it relates to the housing, homelessness and government topic. We are excited to host all current Luskin students and alumni for what will be the beginning of a great series of engaging conversations.

We are pleased to have 4 distinguished panelists:

  • Ann Sewill (GM of the City of Los Angeles Housing Department)
  • Eric Shaw (San Francisco Director at Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development)
  • Gustavo Velasquez (Director at California Department of Housing & Community Development)
  • Jason Pu (Regional Administrator for HUD Region IX)

This event is moderated by Luskin’s own,  Michael Lens (Associate Professor of Urban Planning and Policy, and Associate Faculty Director of the Lewis Center for Regional policy Studies) .
