Steve Zipperstein is the former Chief Assistant United States Attorney in Los Angeles, where he
served alongside current House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff for many years.
Zipperstein also served as Counselor to Attorney General Janet Reno for the congressional hearings
regarding the Waco matter, and as Counselor to then-Assistant Attorney General Robert Mueller
regarding the congressional investigation of the Bush 41 Administration’s handling of the so-called
“Iraq-gate” matter. Zipperstein reported directly to former/current Attorney General William Barr for
more than a decade during their private sector careers. Zipperstein currently teaches in the Global
Studies Program and Public Policy departments at UCLA, and is a Senior Fellow at the UCLA Center
for Middle East Development. He will be teaching an Undergraduate Public Affairs course in spring
2020, titled, “Advanced Technologies, Law and Public Policy.” His forthcoming book, “Law and the
Arab-Israeli Conflict: The Trials of Palestine,” will be published in March 2020 by Routledge.
