 About UCTC Research ConferenceUCTC’s vision is excellence in transportation education, excellence in transportation research, and a vibrant network of transportation professionals who will put their education and research findings into practice.  The annual UCTC Research Conference is a centerpiece of this effort—an opportunity designed to give students the experience of organizing a conference, presenting their work, and discussing the work of their peers.  This is the 18th year of this conference which brings together students from Berkeley, Davis, Irvine, Riverside, UCLA, and UC Santa Barbara come together to their knowledge. UCLA is pleased to once again host the event. We look forward to numerous presentations, as well as presentations and posters from great transportation academics and professionals of the future. The UCLA Complete Streets Conference will precede the UCTC Research conference on Thursday, February 28 at the Doubletree by Hilton in Downtown Los Angeles. This conference features sessions during the day and an evening keynote lecture from Janette Sadik-Khan. Please register at the Complete Streets Conference Website, separately. Projects are welcomed from capstone and dissertation efforts, classroom papers or faculty affiliated research. Preliminary findings can be presented for work-in-progress. Projects will be selected by the UCLA program committee for either presentations or posters. Those selected for oral presentation will speak for approximately 15 minutes with an additional question and answer period. Those who are not selected for an oral presentation will automatically be included in a poster session. Abstracts should be submitted by all who wish to present, regardless of format. Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words. If you would only like to be considered for the poster session, please indicate so on the proposal form. Abstracts must be no longer than 450 words long and are due by the end of the day January 31, 2013.Please submit your abstract here Travel ReimbursementAll students who submit an abstract to the conference are eligible to receive their registration costs back. Additionally, students who submit an abstract are also eligible for travel reimbursement up to the following amounts:UC Berkeley and UC Davis – Up to $150UC Riverside, UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara – Up to $75Travel costs include air, train, or ground transportation. Mileage is reimbursed at 0.55 cents/mile. One reimbursement per car allowed. It is also approximately a 20 minute walk.A one-way ride on the fly-away is $10 and only accepts credit cards (no  cash).Super Shuttle: This shared van service picks up directly outside of baggage claim and provides door-to-door service between LAX and the conference hotel.
