It is quite true that remote work does not help solve race and class disparities. Honestly, there is still a preconceived notion that a person needs to be physically present to make a difference. The gap widens when it comes to remote work. The identifiers of a person become their income, race and performance. Low paying jobs are frequently not remote, and the sole reason is the menial nature of these aforementioned jobs. While it should be made sure that equalities exist, improving the conditions of low paying jobs would go a long way.

In third world countries, this problem gets worse. The conditions of remote work and in-location are equally dreary at times. The best way in my humble opinion is to set policies that ensure the employee gets to choose and doesn’t have to suffer because of their choice.
