The Human Services Management Certificate is offered by the UCLA Luskin Department of Social Welfare in alignment with the Network for Social Work Management (NSWM), an international organization whose mission is to strengthen social work leadership in health and human services. The curriculum is aligned with the NSWM Human Services Management Competencies, and UCLA MSW students are eligible to receive the certificate if they meet the minimum eligibility requirements.
NSWM Aligned Curriculum: Curriculum aligned with the Network for Social Work Management’s Human Services Management Competencies.
Leadership Preparation: Strengthens social work leadership capabilities in health and human services settings.
Available to MSW Students: Open to UCLA MSW students who meet the minimum eligibility requirements.
Nationally Recognized: Earn a certificate through UCLA’s approved partnership with the Network for Social Work Management.
To earn the Human Services Management Certificate, students must be graduating in the applicable academic year, remain in good academic standing, and complete at least two approved advanced management courses aligned with the Network for Social Work Management’s Human Services Management Competencies. Eligible dual-degree students may petition to substitute relevant coursework from their companion degree, subject to approval.
