Several services and resources are available to you as a UCLA student.  See what the university has to offer, as well as opportunities provided directly from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.  Among them are Career Services, student health, our computer lab, and fellowships and financial aid.

Campus Resources

Associated Students UCLA includes student government, student publications, and student services designed to meet the everyday needs of students and the campus community.

The mission of the UCLA BBRC is to uplift, support, and inspire the UCLA Black and African Diaspora Community. With the goal of cultivating community, family, and power, the UCLA BBRC serves as a space the community can call home.

In 2019, the Bruin Underground Scholars program was developed to support the academic experiences of students that identify as formerly incarcerated and/or system impacted. Understanding that our students come from a plethora of walks, we honor the lived experiences of those that have dealt with the direct and indirect experiences of the carceral system

CARE operates from an anti-oppression framework and is committed to the eradication of sexual and gender-based violence through creating and sustaining a safe, healthy, equitable community for all people.

UCLA’s Collegiate Recovery Program (CRP) is dedicated to providing academic, wellness, and emotional support to students who are in recovery or who are considering recovery.

The Students with Dependents Program (SwD) at the Bruin Resource Center provides caring and personalized support to UCLA undergraduate, graduate, and professional school students who are parents, guardians, and caregivers.

Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment prevention education for all incoming and continuing graduate and professional students.  Mandatory for all incoming students. Academic holds will be placed on your record if not completed.

UAW Local 2865 is the union for 19,000+ Tutors, Readers, Graduate Student Instructors and Teaching Assistants at the University of California. All graduate students are eligible to join the union.

The UCLA LGBTQ Campus Resource Center provides a comprehensive range of education and advocacy services supporting intersectional identity development as well as fostering unity, wellness, and an open, safe, and inclusive environment for UCLA’s LGBTQ community.

The CPO is dedicated to enhancing student success through comprehensive support services. We focus on meeting basic & essential needs, fostering academic achievement, and promoting leadership development. The Dialogue across Difference (DaD) Initiative aims to model and promote the values of intellectual engagement, curiosity, empathy, active listening and critical thinking through a series of campus events, classes, informal learning opportunities and social programming. Through its four prongs of campus collaboration, student leadership, teaching programs, and training and workshops, DaD maximizes campus resources and expertise to help build these critical skills in our community.

The mission of UCLA’s Financial Wellness is to empower all Bruins to confidently navigate their finances in a way that supports their overall well-being. This program fosters financial literacy skills through workshops, coaching and online educational efforts.

The Undocumented Student Program (USP), within the UCLA Bruin Resource Center (BRC), supports undocumented students by providing caring, personalized services and resources that enable students to reach their highest potential.

The Veteran Resource Center (VRC) provides caring and personalized support to UCLA undergraduate and graduate military-connected students. We provide guidance on educational benefits, academic support, career development, and community building opportunities for military-connected students.

Career and Graduate Student Services

Case Managers are available to assist students struggling with mental or physical health, facing an unexpected challenge or crisis, or experiencing a personal loss. They can support students by exploring options, identifying on-campus resources, and helping students to create a plan for their next steps.

The D3 Initiative aims to create a cohesive strategy to bridge differences, understand our diverse society, and confront disparities in the field of public affairs.

UCLA Luskin provides training on equity, diversity and inclusion for incoming graduate students at the start of each school year. Training includes workshops and guided discussions on how issues such as racism, sexism and privilege impact our world view. This is a mandatory session that is hosted as part of the Luskin wide Orientation for graduate students prior to every Fall quarter.

Luskin student organizations can book rooms through the school for events and meetings. The Luskin Events team has compiled a Student Event Resource Manual that you can reference for room reservations, policies, funding, food and beverage assistance, event worksheets, and forms.

The Senior Fellows Program is the premier leadership career training program of the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. The mission of the Senior Fellows Leadership Program is to engage prominent leaders as role models for graduate students from Public Policy, Social Welfare and Urban Planning. The program features policy, public service and community leaders who act as role models to lead UCLA Luskin students to careers in the public interest.

Student Support Services provides interpersonal counseling, curates, advertises, and assesses student support events and programs, advises student organizations, and overall supports Luskin students in their intersectional professional and personal development journeys. This office provides individual and group advising including: developing student organizations, navigating conflict/ value dis-alignment, orienting international and cross-country students to Los Angeles, referring to various campus resources, and trouble-shooting on various issues the student may have as it impacts their academics.
