The Anderson School of Management and UCLA’s Urban Planning Program offer concurrent study leading to an MBA and a MURP. By merging knowledge of how the private and public sectors operate, the program aims to prepare students for careers in both private industry and public service.
Public-Private Synthesis: Merges knowledge of private sector workings with public service to prepare graduates for work in either sector.
Three-Year Program: Earn both degrees in three years with 72–96 MBA units and 48–72 MURP units.
Small Cohort: Approximately 2–3 students participate in this program each year.
Cross-Sector Mobility: Graduates are equipped to move easily between private industry and public service roles.
Students pursuing the concurrent degree program must meet entrance and total course requirements established for each of the respective degrees. Under each group of requirements, if the student takes the minimum number of required courses in one school, s/he must then take the maximum number of required courses in the other school to achieve a total of 36 courses.
