IDEAS42 is a Harvard initiative that bridges the worlds of research and action. On the research side, we use insights from psychology and economics to create innovative programs designed with insight from academics as well as private and public partners. On the action side, we work diligently to implement, test and refine these programs. We work with diverse partner organizations (Banks, MFIs, NGOs) and sometimes on our own to execute these new ideas. We then scale the successful ideas to address the needs of large populations through a network of partner organizations internationally. We thus combine fresh ideas from research with field insights to create, implement and scale new programs that make a difference. Our innovations are aimed at growth challenges universal to all developing countries, and since they can therefore be applied broadly, our aim is to maximize the overall impact of our research.
