Many aspiring professionals in Public Affairs are attracted to the field to enact social change. For some, the connection to this work is highly personal, and thus can simultaneously be very rewarding and draining. Given the widespread emergence of actions in relation to Black Lives Matter, the global COVID-19 pandemic, and a variety of intersecting sociopolitical and economic issues, the contemporary Public Affairs sector seems to be particularly complex. The Luskin Undergraduate Program invites our undergraduate majors, pre-majors and minors to a program to discuss as a community: being a Public Affairs student in a remote context, sharing personal narratives on their activism during this pandemic, and strategies to support yourself and others amidst these myriad phenomena.
