Isabelle Aguirre (they/she) is a recent MSW graduate from UCLA Luskin whose work sits at the intersection of research, policy, and community-rooted practice. They are interested in how administrative systems enact violence against queer and trans communities, especially those who are incarcerated, and how we can build something different. Over the past five years, they have worked across carceral justice, mutual aid, and participatory media projects, always in close collaboration with formerly incarcerated people and grounded in the lived experiences of community. For Isabelle, research and teaching are tools for collective liberation, rooted in abolitionist values and community trust.
