Alumnus Paul Steenhausen (B.A. Political Science, 1993) will discuss his work at the Legislative Analyst’s Office and opportunities to work there as an analyst and/or a graduate summer intern.
The Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO) has provided fiscal and policy advice to the California Legislature for more than 80 years. It is known for its fiscal and programmatic expertise and nonpartisan analyses of the state budget. The office also serves as the “eyes and ears” for the Legislature to ensure that the executive branch is implementing legislative policy in a cost efficient and effective manner.
