Working at the HUD Office of Disaster Recovery

Nov 21 @ 12:00 pm-1:00 pm

Meet with Kevin O’Neill, Assistant Director in the Office of Disaster Recovery with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to learn more about working in this field! If you have an interest in affordable housing and community development, a concern of equity, any experience in community development/revitalization, and an awareness and interest in disaster recovery, this is the perfect session for you.

Kevin earned his M.A. in Urban Planning from UCLA in 1992 and has nearly 15 years of experience working with HUD, so this is a rare opportunity to hear from one of our alums directly about their work with this federal agency! He started with HUD in 2011 with the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, managed Sandy Recovery grantees, and then moved to Disaster Recovery in 2016. Before that, he had 25 years of experience in the non-profit community development sector, developing affordable housing, supportive housing and community facilities.

Note that this session is open to all Luskin graduate students and only SENIOR UNDERGRADUATE PUBLIC AFFAIRS MAJORS.
