Dr. Tony Madril, DSW, LCSW (He/Him) is the founder and clinical director of the Resilience Institute for Trauma Recovery in Los Angeles, CA where he specializes in the treatment of complex trauma, attachment-related emotional dysregulation, and compulsive behaviors. He is a licensed clinical social worker and Doctor of Clinical Social Work. He completed his Master of Social Work degree at the University of Denver, Graduate School of Social Work in 1997 and his Doctor of Clinical Social Work in 2021 at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Social Policy and Practice. He has 29 years of post-masters clinical experience as well as several years of specialized training in trauma therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), EMDR 2.0, Ego States Therapy, the Flash Technique, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). In addition, he has received training in mindfulness and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) from UCLA’s Mindful Awareness Research Center and UC San Diego’s Center for Mindfulness.
Dr. Madril is a lecturer at UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs and an adjunct professor at University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work. He is a member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and the EMDR International Association. He is currently developing a treatment protocol to address attachment-related emotional dysregulation and compulsive behaviors in adults with histories of childhood trauma.
