Professor Ann Carlson will discuss California’s landmark Global Warming Solutions Act, AB 32, and its application to the transportation sector. She will focus on the centerpiece of AB 32, California’s comprehensive cap-and-trade program, as well as the Pavley automobile greenhouse gas standards, the state’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard, and legal challenges to the California program.Speaker BioAnn Carlson is the Shirley Shapiro Professor of Environmental Law, and the inaugural Faculty Director of the Emmett Center on Climate Change and the Environment at the UCLA School of Law. Prof. Carlson is one of the country’s leading scholars of climate change law and policy. She currently serves on an American Academy of Arts and Sciences panel studying the future of America’s energy systems. Prof. Carlson received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1989 and her B.A., magna cum laude, from UC Santa Barbara in 1982.RSVP now!
