Join the UCLA Luskin team for the United Way’s Annual “HomeWalk”, a 5K Walk/Run to End Homelessness. Dean Gilliam will be covering the registration fee for UCLA Luskin students, faculty and staff. For more information, contact Allison Morris at amorris@luskin.ucla.edu Homelessness is the most extreme form of poverty. The current economic environment and growing inequality only exacerbates this problem. With over 51,000 homeless in Los Angeles County, we are the homeless capital of the nation with 40% homeless women and children, 12,556 chronically homeless individuals, and 9,141 homeless veterans. The School has set a goal of having at least 50 walkers with a fundraising goal of $10,000. Every dollar raised goes directly back into the community to ensure that homeless families and individuals have access to permanent supportive housing. Not only is this a good cause, but this is a great way for the UCLA Luskin School to participate in this community event and show the city what our school is all about. For those of you who participate in the run/walk and help fundraise $100, Dean Gilliam will provide you with a Luskin t-shirt or baseball cap to wear to the event.
