The seminar, cohosted by the Luskin Undergraduate Program and Global Public Affairs at UCLA Luskin, is titled Bureaucracy and its discontents: A case study of basic education in South Africa with Brian Levy
Brian Levy, professor of the Practice of International Development at John Hopkins University. In this seminar, Levy will use the example of South Africa to explore how politics and institutions influence the quality of education. He will be discussing his recent publication, The Governance and Politics of Basic Education: A Tale of Two South African Provinces.
Dr. Levy is also the Academic Director at the Nelson Mandela School of Public Governance. Prior to his current role, he worked at the World Bank from 1989 to 2012 after receiving his PhD in economics at harvard UnilLuversity
