Sheridan/Hawkes is pleased to present a workshop on Visual Communication.Urban Planners and policy makers need to be able to communicate their ideas clearly to a variety of audiences, from community members to architects, engineers, and developers.  Join us for this special workshop that covers the basics of visual communication.  The workshop will address:How you can use visual cues such as color, placement, orientation, style, information graphics, size, texture, font, and typography to strengthen your message.How you ca balance text and graphics on the pageSome quick and easy design tricks to make your planning document professional-looking. This workshop is taught by UCLA Alumni Amber Hawkes, AICP, and Georgia Sheridan, AICP. Sheridan/Hawkes are the creators of   DESIGN Your Neighborhood: Design Strategies and Resources for Livable Neighborhoods , a toolkit for Neighborhood Councils and people who are working at the local level in Los Angeles to improve their communities.  The toolkit offers easy-to-use design strategies, ideas, and resources to promote incremental, small-scale improvements to the urban realm. The Toolkit was created by Sasha Wisotsky (M.A. Urban Planning, 2010) in partnership with Sheridan/Hawkes.
